Then and now, the community has pushed for a deeper investigation. 23 years later, new evidence related to person of interest Paul Flores, the person to have last been seen with Smart, is being investigated. A group of Cal Poly students are building an artificial intelligence voice assistant that aims to provide students and faculty with knowledge of courses, buildings, faculty and other campus information.
“[HRT] is primary care. It’s not specialty care, and some voices in the community will like to say oh that’s specialty care,” Pride Center Coordinator Samuel Byrd said. “This is allowing people to feel comfortable in their skin and allowing them to navigate our community, that’s primary.”
