Cal Poly Football brings in one of their first offseason transfers in Victory Johnson.

Johnson is a redshirt freshman from the University of Colorado and will play for the Mustangs in the 2024-25 football season. He was listed as a linebacker for the Buffaloes but will transition to defensive end at Cal Poly.

According to 247 Sports, Johnson was a three-star prospect from Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego. During high school, he was ranked the 62nd best player in California. ESPN ranked Johnson the No. 40 inside linebacker in his class and No. 107 in California.

“He’s a physical player who has a nice edge to his game and one of the best and most versatile defensive players out west,” 247’s analyst Greg Biggins said.

Johnson, who is listed at 6 foot 4, 235 lb., had 46 tackles in six games as a senior in high school and a 36-yard interception for a touchdown in the Division I-AA state championship game against Folsom.

With an outstanding defensive resume from his time at Cathedral Catholic and a stint in the PAC-12, Johnson will look to bolster the defensive front for the Mustangs.
