Cal Poly Football will be bringing in seven new transfer student-athletes for the upcoming 2026 campaign, the team announced through multiple news releases and posts to the team’s Instagram.
After a 4-8 season last year and the addition of head coach Tim Skipper, the Mustangs are looking to bolster a team that is searching for a more consistent run game and quarterback play. In his introductory conference, Skipper emphasized that he wanted to double down on “tough, hard-nosed, aggressive, fundamental football” by bolstering the team’s offensive and defensive line.

Just over one month after being introduced as head coach, Skipper has already landed seven transfers to help in his overhaul of Cal Poly Football, including landing a potential star on the defensive side.
Chase Martin – Boise State
Position: Linebacker
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 225 lbs
A three-star transfer linebacker who spent the last three years at Boise State, Chase Martin arrives in SLO as the feature pickup by the Mustangs from the portal in this cycle. The two-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree played the most in his freshman year, appearing in 14 games and starting two, and finishing the year with 14 tackles. He spent most of his 2024 season on special teams and missed his 2025 campaign due to injury.
Martin attended Thousand Oaks High School and played both ways as a linebacker and running back. His senior season consisted of 131 tackles over 11 games, including 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception. He will form an elite pairing with 2025 All-American Mikey D’Amato at the linebacker position next season.
Davit Boyajyan – University of Washington
Position: Offensive Line
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 310 lbs
A former center from the University of Washington, Boyajyan comes in hoping to help bolster the Mustangs’ offensive line. Boyajyan, who has three more years of eligibility, was moved from his original position of offensive guard to center and redshirted his freshman year, where he redshirted for the Huskies.
He spent his second year as the third-string center and received little playing time outside a late spring game appearance. He was noted by Washington Head Coach Kalen DeBoer as a late bloomer, but he admired his “quick first step.” Boyajyan will look to help the Mustangs dominate the front seven, a key weakness Skipper noted a need to address in his press conference.
Jaden Green – Lehigh University
Position: Running Back
Height: 5-foot-9
Weight: 185 lbs
Green, a third-year running back, comes from Lehigh University to give the Mustangs’ running core a boost. As a first-year player, the Second Team All-Patriot League running back appeared in all 13 games and rushed for a total of 777 yards with 10 touchdowns, with an impressive 5.4 yards per carry.
The former Serra Padre followed it up with 854 rushing yards in last year’s campaign, with eight touchdowns and 6.1 yards per carry. Green, whose backfield stance resembles that of Las Vegas Raiders’ running back Ashton Jeanty, is known for his elusiveness and speed, hoping to bring a burst to this new Mustang offense.
RL Miller – Fresno State
Position: Defensive Back
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 194 lbs
After redshirting his freshman year, Miller had a strong first year of play, appearing in 10 games and starting four, including a career high seven tackles against Nevada. The third year DB will be looking to find a spot on the Mustangs secondary and holds three years of eligibility remaining.
Miller comes from Sacred Heart Cathedral high school, where he was the MVP of the State Championship Game in 2021 and was a first-team all-league player as a Junior and a Senior. He will look to continue his on-field success on the back end of the Mustang’s secondary.
Noah Delvin – Santa Monica City College
Position: Offensive Line
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 247 lbs
The second-year offensive lineman comes to Cal Poly from Santa Monica, looking to add some depth to the Cal Poly line alongside fellow transfer Boyajyan. Delvin made the All-League Offensive line for the Corsairs and helped contribute to their high-powered offense, which scored 40.2 points per game and 392.8 yards per game, 10th and ninth in the California Community College Athletic Association, respectively.
Dean Scrivner – Fresno State
Position: Punter
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 215 lbs
The Mustangs rounded out the first phase of their 2026 recruiting class with a special teams pickup. The second-year punter had an impressive past year with the Bulldogs, with an average of 43.3 yards per boot.
He also hit multiple 70-yard kicks as well and only had two touchbacks. Scrivner will look to contribute to a special teams unit that was particularly frustrating for the Mustangs last year, helping them control the field position battle in 2026.
Payton Hoff – Grambling State
Position: Long Snapper
Height: 6 foot
Weight: 225 lbs
The former Ventura prospect looks to help strengthen the Mustang special teams’ squad. Coming from Ventura College, Hoff threw the shotput, hammer and the discus while also long snapping before transferring to Grambling State University to snap.
Hoff will have a tough task of replacing the production of All-American long snapper Spencer Moore, who finished his final season of eligibility in 2025 with zero bad snaps. The Mustangs staff will hope Hoff’s three years of experience keep a typically little-noticed position efficient and productive.
