Cal Poly Women’s Tennis dropped four straight points against Grand Canyon in a 4-0 loss on Feb. 17.

The Antelopes (8-1), who went to the NCAA tournament last season, are on a hot streak, winning their last five matches without allowing the opposition to score a point.

The Mustangs (4-2) put up a good effort despite not being able to win any points, having close games in most matchups.

At the No. 2 doubles spot, the duo of graduate student Melissa LaMette and junior Romane Mosse were leading 5-4 before GCU secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. The two are still undefeated this season, with a 4-0 record.

In singles, junior Peyton Dunkle was leading the second set of her No. 2 match 5-4 before GCU secured the dual point.

Sophomore Kennedy Buntrock was in a close match at the No. 5 spot, down 5-4 before the match was halted.

GCU secured points at the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 spots in order to clinch the dual win and take the overall matchup 4-0.

The Mustangs will stay in Arizona, heading to the Whiteman Tennis Center to take on No. 25 Arizona State on Feb. 18, at 11 a.m.
