To the readers of Mustang News:

My column published in our Dec. 4 issue titled “The Ferguson paradox” was controversial to say the least.

However, it was brought to my attention that my column was posted under an account using my name on the “Politically Incorrect” thread of the website 4chan. With the 4chan post came at least one comment with extremely racist and vulgar language from a user claiming to be me.

I want to make clear that this is a false account created under my name in a libelous fashion.

Before this situation I had never even heard of the website 4chan, let alone visited it. I strongly reject any racist behavior and would never consider posting any of my columns in any place with an even remotely racist or bigoted history.

In the meantime, I respect the opinions of others and enjoy the debate that occurs in the comment section. That discourse and debate is why I have such a passion for politics. On the other hand, I do not understand or tolerate any libelous behavior used to defame me by expressing my opinions in an inappropriate context.

Thank you to everybody who reads my columns and I hope that a situation like this does not arise again. Have a great holiday season!

Sincerely,

Eric Stubben

      1. or mustang news doesnt understand the fact that labeling ourselves “conservatives” or “democrats” is the issue to begin with.

        1. I know it’s easy to focus on labels, but I just use them as an entry-point to reading, or hearing, what someone has to say. It’s just a word, afterall.
