Social
The Social Media team works on creating and distributing creative news content via Instagram, Twitter/X, Threads, Facebook and TikTok for a combined following of over 40,000. We publish multimedia content based on work from a 100+ person-staff spanning from video and radio content breaking news coverage and in-depth, data stories. In prioritizing connection, transmission and accessibility, we serve as the public voice for Mustang News and the community by finding innovative and impactful ways to story tell to our greatest audience concentration.

Mustang News TV is a dynamic group of passionate and creative student reporters dedicated to delivering engaging and informative news coverage to the Cal Poly community. Our reporters collaborate to produce high-quality video stories that highlight campus and local events, student achievements, and important issues affecting the community. Our mission is to provide local coverage of the community through visual storytelling.

The Digital Team is a team of web developers that build new digital interactive tools for mustangnews.net, lead web-based multimedia events, and control the backend of the website. We maximize site optimization and work with all teams of MMG to enhance our news coverage. We combine our tech innovation skills and newsroom expertise to properly serve the Mustang News audience.

Photo
The Photo team is responsible for capturing compelling images that accompany stories and enhance visual storytelling. They cover a wide range of events, from breaking news and political events to sports. They edit, select, and curate photos for both print and web. Their primary goal is to provide readers with powerful visual content that adds context and emotion to the articles.

Bilingual
Mustang News’ bilingual team aims to bring language and culture to Cal Poly campus with bilingual reporting. They report on topics and events that involve the Hispanic and Latinx community. This team is also in charge of the Spanish translations for English Mustang News articles.
