April 12, 11:31 a.m.: Another recent graduate had their visa revoked, according to university spokesperson Matt Lazier. Now, there is one international student and three recent graduates of Cal Poly who are affected by the international student visa revocations happening nationwide. The Cal State system’s numbers have not changed since Mustang News’ last update.

The university’s International Center have communicated with all international students and graduates with student visas to relay information and support services, according to Lazier. Every day, the center is checking SEVIS — a government database with the legal status of international students — to look for visa revocations. If a Cal Poly individual is impacted, the center “will contact that person directly.”

April 10, 11:54 a.m: The latest update from the system reads “a total of 48 CSU students have been impacted by visa revocations since the start of the year.”

April 9, 11:20 p.m.: As of today, 40 students have their visas revoked across the Cal State system, according to a weekly update from the system. International students are directed to contact their campus’ International Center for additional support.

April 9, 6:23 p.m.: The university learned two recent Cal Poly alumni’s work visas were revoked. Additional details cannot be shared due to privacy concerns.

One international student had their visa revoked, Mustang News learned from university communications.

Throughout the Cal State system, 36 students have had their visas revoked, Cal State Media Relations Manager Hazel Kelly confirmed in an email to Mustang News. The system’s media team is unable to share the breakdown for each campus due to privacy concerns, Kelly wrote. The reason for the visa revocations is unclear and varies on an individual basis.

Federal immigration authorities revoked the visas of international students nationwide, according to the LA Times. Over 300 international students’ visas have been revoked nationally, according to Inside Higher Ed.
