Cal Poly students hoping to register for tickets to the A Boogie Wit da Hoodie concert were met with a website crash shortly before registration opened at noon Wednesday.

The ASI Access Portal, where students were instructed to reserve tickets, returned an “Error establishing a database connection” message shortly after noon, rendering the event page inaccessible. ASI provided an Instagram story link to purchase tickets, which students were able to access, but that announcement was followed by a “SOLD OUT” message just 11 minutes after the alternative ticket purchase link was posted.

It is not yet clear how many tickets, if any, were successfully claimed before the system went down.

ASI announced earlier this week that the concert will be held on Wednesday, May 14 in the Recreation Center Main Gym (Bldg. 43), with a capacity of up to 3,500 students. Entry is free with a PolyCard and government-issued ID but registration is required.

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, born Artist Dubose, rose to fame in 2016 with his breakout mixtape “Artist.” He’s known for platinum-certified tracks like “Drowning” featuring Kodak Black and the chart-topping album Hoodie SZN.

Doors for the concert will open at 6:30 p.m., with a student opener at 7:20 and A Boogie scheduled to perform at 8:30.
