John Laird is running for re-election to represent Senate District 17, which includes San Luis Obispo county. Laird serves on multiple committees including the Senate Budget Subcommittee #1 (Education) and is a member of the Natural Resources & Water Committee. Before his Senate service, Laird served as Secretary of the California Natural Resources Agency from 2011 – 2019.
