Authorities arrested a Cal Poly employee on suspicion of contacting a minor for sex on Wednesday.
Kevin Coulombe, 38, was also charged with allegedly arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes, according to a press release from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.
Search warrants were served at Coulombe’s home, his vehicle and at Cal Poly. Coulombe is currently listed as an Instructional Support Technician in the physics department at Cal Poly on the department’s website.
Coulombe was previously a teacher at San Luis Obispo High School and Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California.
This arrest stemmed from a continued investigation into the sexual exploitation of children in San Luis Obispo and an ongoing “effort to serve and protect San Luis Obispo County and to proactively target those who victimize the most vulnerable members of our community,” according to the press release.
