Margot Sinclair, a local band of five Cal Poly students, won Shabang’s annual “Battle of the Bands” competition on Thursday evening at the Fremont Theatre. The winning group earned a spot to play in this year’s Shabang Live Music & Arts Festival and a cash prize of $1000.

Cal Poly’s Safer organization hosted the “Take Back the Night” event on Thursday, April 27. This sexual assault survivor solidarity event was held at the University Union Plaza, where attendees participated in various activities such as visiting booths, listening to live music, and hearing from guest speakers.
