Women's hoops pulls away from UCSB, 88-70
It was a night filled with milestones as two Mustangs broke personal and school records. Cal Poly defeated Blue-Green rivals UC Santa Barbara 88-70 in the Mott Athletics Center on Saturday to move to 2-0 in conference play.
Men's basketball wins in Santa Barbara for the first time since 2007
Led by junior walk-on Anthony Silvestri’s 17 points off the bench, the Mustangs defeated the Gauchos 72-64. Silvestri scored his points in just 15 minutes of playing time, hitting on 5 of 7 attempts from long range.

Last year, it was George Malki who stole the spotlight in Alex G. Spanos Stadium. Hoisted up on the shoulders of his teammates and fellow students, the then-junior midfielder was draped in a Cal Poly flag. He couldn’t stop smiling.
