Kyle Tanaka and Victoria Tonascia collaborated to create a Latinx/e book collection at Kennedy Library, featuring 213 books in various genres and languages, with the goal of increasing representation and providing students with the opportunity to see themselves reflected in the library’s collections.

The Chicano SLO Archive at Cal Poly is using a $2,000 HSI mini-grant to digitize and catalog materials that highlight the histories and contributions of Chicano and Latino communities in San Luis Obispo, and to create exhibitions that engage diverse student curators and participants.
