Cal Poly pitcher Matt Imhof made school history when Team USA announced earlier this summer that the then-sophomore had been the first Cal Poly baseball player to be selected to the Collegiate National Team’s 24-man roster.
The Mustangs have become all too familiar with the trainer’s room over the last couple of seasons.
The Cal Poly baseball team lost two of three games to UC Riverside in its first conference test last weekend.
The University of Houston pounded out 16 hits and blew open a 2-2 tie with a seven run fourth inning en route to a 13-8 victory Friday night against the Mustangs. The Mustangs tallied 11 hits on the night, but also struck out 15 times. The second game of the series is set for 6 p.m. tomorrow in Baggett Stadium.
For the second year in a row, Cal Poly second baseman Matt Jensen has been invited to the USA Baseball team trials. He was the first Mustang baseball player to be invited to National Team Trials in his first season at Cal Poly.
