Cal Poly baseball almost flawless in 15-6 rout of Pepperdine

Junior centerfielder Alex McKenna’s bases-clearing triple helped lift the Mustangs to victory over the Pepperdine Waves.

Cal Poly regained the 9-8 but fell short against Pepperdine Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs’ roster sports 15 freshmen, and four of them have seen the starting lineup this season.

Cal Poly (46-11) will play Sacramento State in an elimination game at 1 p.m. tomorrow. The winner will take on Pepperdine (41-16) at 6 p.m.

Mundell and Zandona’s big nights power Cal Poly to a 5-1 victory.

No. 3 Cal Poly lost its third straight game on Tuesday.
