Tickets to the June 15 event, “Mustangs to the Moon and Back: An Evening with Victor Glover” sold out within two hours of being available, prompting the university to plan a livestream at the Performing Arts Center pavilion.
Glover will be returning to his alma mater to speak about his flight around the moon and “how his Learn by Doing education helped prepare him for the historic Artemis II mission,” according to an email from the Office of the President.
Free tickets were made available to Cal Poly faculty, staff, and students on May 20th and sold out within two hours, according to an email from the Office of the President. Registration was intended to be open to the public on May 22 but all the tickets were claimed before then, according to University Spokesperson Keegan Koberl.
In order to accommodate as many people as possible, the university planned two alternative events for those who weren’t able to get a ticket.
“Mustangs to the Moon and Back: An Evening with Victor Glover,” will be livestreamed in the PAC pavilion with 200 seats available to the public and the Cal Poly community on a first come first serve basis. Attendees are encouraged to begin lining up at 6:30 p.m. ahead of the 7:30 event if they wish to get seats.
Additionally, the event will be livestreamed on YouTube.
“You can watch from the comfort of your own home with friends and fellow fans of the Artemis II mission,” the email said.
The livestream will be available on the Cal Poly website the day of the event.
