Cal Poly students have been receiving the entire Adobe Creative Suite for free since Oct. 31 as part of an agreement between the Cal State University system and Adobe.

Previously students would pay a discounted $40 for the year for the entire suite, compared to a $70 month charge for the same access. The program will cost the Cal State system $300,000 to implement, according to California State University Director of Public Affairs Ashley Bentley-Smith.

“The CSU is committed to providing students, faculty and staff with access to tools that support their learning, teaching and working needs,” Bentley-Smith said in a statement to Mustang News.

Plans using a Cal Poly email will not be canceled automatically, according to an email from the IT department. Students will have to cancel their plans through either Adobe or Kivuto depending on which vendor they used to buy the license.
