BETWEEN FRIENDS is set to perform a DJ set on Tuesday, Oct. 6. ASI is coordinating the event and holding the concert in the Cal Poly Recreation Center. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and Dylan Riley, a student DJ, will perform at 7 p.m.
Savannah and Brandon Hudson are the brother-and-sister duo that make up BETWEEN FRIENDS, according to their booking agency, Goodlive Artists. The pair have around 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with “affection” as their most-listened-to song with around 600 million streams on all platforms, according to Goodlive Artists.
Jessica Danhi, a nutrition sophomore, has only attended the concerts ASI has held in the UU Plaza, but has an interest in seeing the concert.
“I sometimes don’t know the artist, so it’s easy when it’s at the plaza because you just walk by and you can hear it,” Danhi said. “But when it’s in an indoor space, you have to actually commit to going.
Lana Eng, a graphic communications freshman, has not attended a free ASI concert yet.
“I would say I’m interested. I just haven’t had the chance to go yet,” Eng said. “I haven’t heard of [BETWEEN FRIENDS], but I would consider going if my friends were going.”
Ticket registration will be on the Cal Poly ticket office website, beginning on Oct. 2 at 10 a.m.
Student attendees must go to an ASI booth to fill out a waiver and collect their ticket wristbands to register before the concert. The waiver signing is in person, located in the UU Plaza on Monday, Oct. 5, from noon to 4 p.m. or Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. to noon. After completing the waiver, attendees will receive a wristband for entry.
Students must bring a government-issued ID and valid PolyCard to registration. Due to the waiver requirements and wristbands, ticket transfers will not be permitted, according to ASI.
