Mustangs cruise at home over Idaho

The Cal Poly women’s basketball team routed Idaho 77-60 Saturday to finish the Courtyard by Marriott San Luis Obispo Holiday Beach Classic 2-0.

The Mustangs (4-2) were led by senior forward Megan Harrison’s 17 points. She also contributed four assists.

Cal Poly trailed for just 22 seconds before a 3-pointer by sophomore guard Rachel Clancy gave the Mustangs the lead for good six minutes into the contest.

Novachkov brothers both win titles

Cal Poly wrestler Filip Novachkov defeated No. 17 Ryan Prater of Illinois 9-8 in the championship match of the 141-pound bracket at the Missouri Open on Sunday.

Men's water polo falls in championship round

The Cal Poly men’s water polo club team came up short Nov. 16 at the National Collegiate Club Water Polo Championships in Athens, Ohio.

The Mustangs took second place, losing to Michigan State 15-13 in the final game.

“We scored 13 goals and that should always be enough to win,” Mustangs junior driver Josh Mix said.

Cal Poly opens playoffs against Weber State

In Susanna Sonnenberg’s honest and riveting memoir, “Her Last Death,” she displays her menacing childhood in crisp, fresh prose, painting a sordid picture of what is was like growing up with a drug-addicted mother.
