Cal Poly loses heartbreaker on final play

MADISON, Wis. – The words “Cal Poly” were about to enter sports fans’ collective consciousness right next to “Appalachian State.” Just like in the Mountaineers’ season-opening shocker over Michigan last season, the Mustangs’ attempt to stun Wisconsin on Saturday night came down to a kick.

With 62 years of production, the San Luis Obispo Little Theatre (SLOLT) is one of the oldest continuously running community theatres in the nation. And although it may be small in size, the theatre has a giant impact on the community.

Since 1947, more than 400 productions have been staged in more than 20 locations around the county, said president of the SLOLT Board of Directors Marylin Blake.

Cal Poly faces toughest test in program history

At Monday’s weekly Cal Poly athletics news conference, a reporter asked senior quarterback Jonathan Dally what he and the Mustangs wanted to accomplish this weekend.

On its face, the question seemed to have merit.

The Mustangs, ranked third in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA), virtually guaranteed an at-large playoff berth with last week’s 51-28 win over UC Davis.

Promoting diversity has not resulted in tolerance of differences

As one who considers himself socially progressive and tolerant of differences, I find the message delivered by the crops house students to be incompatible with my personal beliefs (if it was not a joke).
