Theta Chi raises $15,600 in philanthropy dance competition
After selling out more than 1,200 seats in the Performing Arts Center (PAC), Cal Poly Theta Chi raised 15,600 dollars through Sorority Best Dance Competition (SBDC) for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo organization according to Alumni Chair Dylan Glass.

1901 Marketplace becomes a popular study space and dining complex; adjusts to new restaurant additions
After its initial opening in Winter quarter, Cal Poly’s new dining complex, 1901 Marketplace, has provided students with additional areas to eat and study. According to Director of Campus Dining Jess Dozier, 1901 Marketplace instantly became the third preferred space for the campus community.

Creating a sanctuary: New location creates opportunity for the Cal Poly Cat Program
The Cal Poly Cat Program is tentatively set to move to the Avila Ranch House by the end of April. Their current location, where they have been located for over 30 years, is being taken over to expand the Cal Poly Technology Park, according to Cat Program Faculty Advisor Damon Watkins.

Cal Poly students and visitors stormed the streets on Saturday morning dressed in festive green outfits for St. Fratty’s Day.
The third weekend of San Luis Obispo Police Department’s (SLOPD) St. Patrick’s Day safety enhancement zone (SEZ) began at 12:01 am on Friday, March 15 and ended at 7 a.m. on Monday. During SEZ, fines for noise violations, unruly gatherings, open containers and public urination are doubled.

Bicycle theft persists on and off campus, disrupting students’ ability to travel
Students who have their bikes or bike parts stolen on campus may encounter greater challenges by no longer having accessible transportation, and the likelihood their bike is recovered is fairly low. Out of 127 reported stolen bikes on campus last year, only eight were recovered.

Quickie Delivery faces setbacks due to Cal Poly e-scooter ban
The continuous enforcement of the electric scooter ban caused Quickie to rely on two electric bikes to fulfill all orders going to campus, leading to longer delivery wait times.
