Pismo Beach now charges for most parking
Say goodbye to free parking in Pismo Beach.
Since March 18, drivers have been required to pay for parking in downtown lots between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Visitors looking to park in the pier lot or lots on the 100 and 200 blocks of Pomeroy and Hinds avenues must now pay $1 an hour.

Men's golf team comes in seventh place at UC Irvine invitational
The Cal Poly men’s golf team took seventh of 10 teams at the two-day, 28th annual UC Irvine Anteater Invitational at the Santa Ana Country Club earlier this week.
Seniors Michael O’Brien and Bryan Pierce carded a 73 and a 74, respectively, in the final round of play on Tuesday, as the Mustangs finished with a four-person, 54-hole 904 total.

Mustangs look to get on winning track
One way to look at the Cal Poly women’s basketball team’s loss Saturday to UC Santa Barbara is that it was its sixth loss in the past eight games. A more optimistic view, though, would be that the Mustangs took the Big West Conference-leading Gauchos to overtime, and gave the unbeaten squad one of its toughest conference tests this season.

Cal Poly wins Lady Braveheart Challenge
Though the wind was blowing and conditions were not ideal, the Cal Poly women’s golf team finished on top Tuesday at the third annual Lady Braveheart Challenge at the Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont.
It was the ninth tournament victory for the women’s golf team since the program was launched eight years ago.
