Cal Poly Beach Volleyball will host seven nationally ranked teams this weekend for the Center of Effort Challenge, which is arguably the most competitive beach volleyball tournament in the country.

Including the Mustangs, who are ranked at No. 6 and hold a 21-5 record, seven of the eight teams competing are ranked inside the top 10. Each team is guaranteed three games, as Cal Poly will face No. 13 Arizona State and No. 2 UCLA Friday. Following those two matches, they’ll face No. 9 Cal Berkeley Saturday afternoon for their final pool play game.

The tournament will serve as a precursor to the postseason in early May, where the Mustangs will look to push past their back-to-back losses in the semifinals of the NCAA Championships.

Matches will kick off on Friday, April 10 at 1:45 p.m at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex.
