“Hairspray’s” John Waters is coming to San Luis Obispo on Feb. 25 with a show at the Fremont Theater.

Screenwriter, actor and comedian John Waters will perform at the historic Fremont Theater on Feb. 25.
The comedian will perform his newest show, “This Filthy World: Filthier & Dirtier.”
Waters is famous for his cult classics, such as “Hairspray” and “Crybaby.”
“’Crybaby,’ that’s probably the one everyone has seen,” Boo Boo Records manager Frank Hayes said. “It just stuck me as funny.”
Hayes said he is most excited to hear Waters share his knowledge, since the performer has worked all over the industry — whether that means movie knowledge, personal knowledge or any other words of wisdom.
“Plus, he’s really funny,” Hayes said. “He comes off very natural and is naturally charismatic.”
The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at Boo Boo Records and online for $30 in advance and $40 at the door.
