The Cal Poly women’s volleyball team defeated UC Santa Barbara in four sets (25-15, 26-28, 25-21, 25-19) at the Thunderdome on Thursday.

With the win, the Mustangs improved to 14-10 overall and 9-4 in the Big West Conference. Cal Poly trails Long Beach State (23-4, 12-2) in the race for the conference title.

The Gauchos (10-14, 6-7) hit .190 to Cal Poly’s .296.

Senior outside hitter Ali Waller led the Mustangs with a team-high 23 kills and a .404 hitting percentage.

Senior opposite Kylie Atherstone contributed 17 kills and senior middle blocker Jaclyn Houston added eight.

Waller, Atherstone and Houston will be honored at Cal Poly’s senior night starting at 7 p.m. Saturday when the Mustangs host UC Riverside.
