Biomedical engineering rising senior Stefan Wagner was officially declared dead Friday after disappearing into the waters of Montaña de Oro State Park one day earlier, Cal Poly administrators wrote in an email to campus Saturday.
Wagner dove into Spooner’s Cove — where currents twist and turn among crashing waves — against the wishes of his friends, The San Luis Obispo Tribune reported. When he failed to resurface, his friends called 911.
Cal Poly ends deferred rush, begins new regulations for greeks
Cal Poly announced changes to its greek regulations Tuesday, including the end of the deferred rush policy under which freshmen males could not join fraternities until their second quarter.
Interim Orfalea College of Business dean announced
Doug Cerf, the area chair for accounting and business law concentrations, will be the interim Orfalea College of Business dean, Cal Poly announced Monday. His position as interim dean will be effective July 1.
