Outrigger canoes filled the calm waters of Morro Bay as local club Pale Kai opened its doors to new members through a series of free demo days. Designed for both first-time and experienced paddlers, these guided sessions give participants the chance to learn the basics of outrigger canoeing while building community on the water. Reporter Rocco Brichler joined one of the demo sessions to find out how the club uses this hands-on approach to recruit new members, and why a Cal Poly student hopes to bring the outrigger experience to campus.
