For co-head coach Mark Perry, describinf the Cal Poly wrestling team’s No. 6 finish in the Pac-10 Championships as anything other than disappointing would be an understatement. Coming off one of the best seasons in a decade, going 9-2 in dual meets, the Mustangs were unimpressive, sending only one wrestler to the Pac-10 finals.

Chase Pami takes second in NCAA championships
Chase Pami became the sixth NCAA wrestling runner-up in Cal Poly history at the recent NCAA championships. Pami competed in the 157-pound weight class and was the lowest seeded wrestler to advance to the finals in any weight class this year.

Boris Novachkov captured the Pacific-10 Conference Championship at 133 pounds, four other Mustangs finished second as Cal Poly settled for a third-place team finish Saturday night.
