San Luis Obispo City Council voted to support “Yes on Measure G” after Cal Poly student activism.
A petition to improve lighting in neighborhoods surrounding campus has been circling the Cal Poly community.
The vote could allow sales, cultivation and manufacturing of recreational marijuana in San Luis Obispo.
If the new regulations pass, San Luis Obispo could be the first city in the county to allow recreational dispensaries.
Mayor Heidi Harmon said she will try to prevent holding elections that may affect students when they are not in town.
