Congresswoman Lois Capps (D-CA) visited Cal Poly in a forum titled “Coffee Conversations with Congresswoman Capps” on Wednesday afternoon.
“There are many federal issues that affect our universities, from student financial aid issues, federal research funding, to serving undocumented students, and addressing school safety,” Capps said in a press release announcing the meeting.
The meeting was part of California State University (CSU) Hill Day, with representatives and students from more than half of the 23 CSU universities advocating for system-wide issues.
For Lois Capps (D-CA), who represents much of the Central Coast in Washington, D.C., the end of the shutdown marked the finale to “ridiculous…pain and disruption.”
