Cal Poly earned three major endorsements from Money Magazine, U.S. News and World Reports and Forbes, with Money Magazine giving it a five-star ranking, U.S. News and World Reports ranking it as the best overall master’s-level university in the West, and Forbes placing it in the top 25 public colleges of its 2025-26 list of America’s Top Colleges.

Orfalea College of Business moves up in the ranks
The Orfalea College of Business at Cal Poly has moved up on Business Week’s chart of top undergraduate business colleges in the country. From no. 70 in 2009, Orfalea is within the top percentile at no. 64 this year.
Fourteen? Not a problem
The Mustangs have achieved the top spot in the Big West Conference while boasting a mere 14-player roster. Yet, head coach Jenny Condon sees it as a blessing in disguise. “It benefits the players; there is lot more one-on-one and individual (coaching) with each player; in the long run they will see these benefits,” she said.
