Beaches of the Central Coast

Local beaches offer relaxation, activities, site seeing and beach fun for everyone. The south holds Montana De Oro State Park, Avila Beach, Shell Beach and Pismo State Beach, and to the north has Cambria and Cayucos.

Solar-powered silver screen

One of the United States’ only solar-powered movie theaters is right down the street. Since 2004, the Palm Theatre has been creating solar energy for PG&E that is used for the Palm, homes and other businesses in that area.

‘Shimmy Shake Shine!’ dazzles crowds with dance and song

From July 8 to July 31, Shimmy Shake Shine! by accomplished choreographer Suzy Miller dazzled crowds with its seemingly random yet unified collection of 35 dance and song numbers.

Reggae-punk band Pepper visits Mid-State Fair on Friday

The Hawaiian-bred, rock-reggae trio Pepper will be playing at the California Midstate Fair in Paso Robles this Friday. The band will play on the Grandstand as a special guest to another rock-reggae outfit, headliner band 311. The punk rock band The Offspring is also joining them on stage.

SLO shows pride in annual festival

The annual SLO Pride Week took place from July 4 to July 11 with a noticeably larger crowd. The week is held to celebrate and educate the public about the LGBT culture, pride and place in society.

Diablo Canyon found safe at annual meeting

SLO County sees more than 200 whooping cough cases
