Men’s soccer secures postseason berth
Three days after clinching a spot in the playoffs, the Cal Poly men’s soccer team cemented their spot as the third seed with a 2-0 win over Cal State Northridge on Saturday night. The Mustangs finish the regular season with a 8-6-3 overall record and 5-3-2 in the Big West. Cal Poly will play at UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Volleyball downs UC Irvine in three sets
The Cal Poly volleyball team (17-6, 7-3 Big West) downed UC Irvine (5-16, 1-7 Big West) in three quick sets Saturday night. One night after looking sluggish in a victory over Cal State Northridge, it was like a completely different team took the court against the Anteaters, head coach Jon Stevenson said.

Leonard still winless as Mustangs drop tight one
Cal Poly had their three-game winning streak snapped on Friday night as UC-Irvine defeated the Mustangs 3-1 at Baggett Stadium. All-American Daniel Bibona pitched eight innings and allowed only five hits and one run for the Anteaters who currently sit in second place in the Big West conference with a 9-4 record.
Baseball falls to UC Irvine in series opener
Despite a strong performance from starter Matt Leonard, the Mustangs fell to the 25th ranked Anteaters from UC-Irvine 3-1 on Friday night at Baggett Stadium. The loss snapped the Mustangs three-game winning streak.

Cal Poly women’s basketball secured the No. 2 seed in the Big West with an 83-69 victory against UC Irvine.
Irvine rallies past Mustangs in overtime
UC Irvine rallied from an eight point deficit in the final 48 seconds to force overtime against Cal Poly. Junior Darren Moore hit a three-point shot with 0.9 seconds in regulation to tie it and Irvine outscored the Mustangs 17-10 in overtime to get the win. The loss means the Mustangs will be the sixth seed in the upcoming Big West conference tournament beginning on Wednesday.

The Mustangs mens’ soccer season ended in a double overtime battle versus the UC Irvine Anteaters.
