The Bradbury Press, who have been compared to Dave Matthews Band and the Counting Crows, will bring their soulful sounds to UU Hour today at 11 a.m.

“Praised at once for their intelligent lyrics and their pop sensibilities, The Bradbury Press have the uncanny ability to make thought-provoking music that sounds familiar the first time you hear it,” according to the band’s Web site, www.thebradburypress.com.

The band, who calls Seattle their home, consists of four members: main songwriter Darren Golden, songwriter Dave Brewer, who is also the guitarist and vocalist, bass player Travis Hartman and drummer Greg Garcia.

The Bradbury Press’s latest CD, “The Front,” combnies “melodic storytelling and inspired riffs with a clear vision that steers clear of rootsy melodrama or jamband boredom,” according to their Web site.

“I want to write about ideas that interest me; the choices we make, and the way we influence eachother’s lives, even in small ways, every day,” Golden said on the band’s Web site.
