As the month of December rolls in, we decided to check in with our very own Mustang News staff to see what music they’re currently jamming to.

They’re not usually on the other side of the camera, so bear with us.

Kayla Missman, journalism senior and Mustang News editor-in-chief

Current tune: Live version of “Sorry” by Justin Bieber

“In general, I’m a fan of slowed down acoustic songs rather than whatever peppy radio version is out there,” she said. “They feel more genuine.”

Ayrton Ostly, journalism senior and Mustang News sports reporter

Current tune: “Somewhere in Stockholm” by Avicii

“It’s a mixture of an EDM song but it’s not just all electronic,” he said. “He’s doing a lot of experimental stuff — that one’s really good.”

Georgie de Mattos, journalism junior and Mustang News photo editor

Current tune: “Go with it” by The Internet

“Finals week is rolling up and in the song it says, ‘Got three funnels to sweep but she don’t care, she get some money first,” which sounds like finals,” she said. “And here I am, at work and getting money.”

Jordan Dunn, agricultural communications senior and lead designer

Current tune: “Flawless (remix) ft. Nicki Minaj” by Beyonce

“I like the song because at the time it was very culturally relevant. It was a few months after the 2014 Met Gala when Solange (Beyonce’s sister) attacked Jay-Z in the elevator,” he said. “I find that very fascinating.”
