You’re not overly sweaty, and you finally got around to changing the filter in your Brita. Today’s a beautiful day— one of a kind. What’s playing in your headphones to relish in this wonderful afternoon? Here’s what Cal Poly’s been jamming out to.

Nick Azevedo, graphic communication senior

Listening to: “You Wanted A Hit” by LCD Soundsystem

“James Murphy (lead singer of LCD Soundsystem) has always wanted to make anthem songs, like really long songs — like spouts of rage and personal feelings.  All of his songs end up to be this cacophony at the end with crazy instruments where he’s just kind of screaming or doing something hilarious. I just love LCD Soundsystem. The song ‘Dance Yrself Clean’ got me hooked.”

Veronica Valley, industrial engineering junior

Listening to: “Diplo and Friends Mix” by ODESZA

“I follow Odesza on Soundcloud and really like them,” Valley said. “They’re very relaxing and I like beats when I’m studying math. I feel like they stimulate the brain.”

Shannon Carroll, agricultural business senior

Listening to: “Say you love me” by Fleetwood Mac

“I like listening to the band because my mom always used to play it.”

Scott Sakamoto, business administration junior

Listening to: “What Do You Mean” by Justin Bieber

“This is the only song by Justin Bieber I like. It’s just pretty catchy. It’s a jammy (song), I’m not going to lie.”
