Current San Luis Obispo Mayor Erica Stewart holds a major lead in the election with 86% of votes in the initial report.
Stewart was first appointed mayor in 2021 after the previous mayor resigned, and she won her first election in 2022 with 70% of the votes.
Stewart supports affordable housing and holding Cal Poly accountable for housing students. She also supports expanding public transportation and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Stewart is a Cal Poly alumna and the city’s first Black mayor.

Donald E. Hedrick received almost 14% of the vote. He has ran for mayor multiple times.
