Dawn Addis, incumbent for California State Assembly District 30, received 65.5% of votes from portions of the three central coast counties, according to the initial reports from San Luis Obispo County, Monterey County and Santa Cruz County.
Addis has 65.5% of voter support in SLO County, according to initial results.
She was first elected to the assembly in 2022. Representing the Democratic party, Addis oversees the counties of Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Santa Cruz.
Addis has a master’s in special education from San Francisco State and was a former special education teacher in the public school system.
As a member of the Ocean Protection Council and chair of the Select Committee on Offshore Wind Energy, Addis supports environmental efforts within the state.
Addis additionally authored a bill that advocates for victims of childhood sexual assault. This bill has since passed the Legislature and was signed into law in Oct. 2023.
