We keep on hating while these politicians are debating, when we need to be learning their strategies and imitating. We can all learn valuable life lessons from politicians. I mean, to get so many people to like them, they have to be doing something right. That’s why this week I’m doing something a little different; I’m proposing that we take political trends and use them in everyday situations.

Cal Poly tries to gain momentum

The Cal Poly men’s basketball team will attempt to add to its two-game winning streak at UC Riverside at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Coming off of a tough win Monday at Pacific, which came in large part due to clutch performances including a 3-pointer from senior forward Matt Hanson and four free throws by junior guard Chaz Thomas, the Mustangs stand at 8-11 overall and 3-4 in Big West Conference play.

What does 'epic' even mean anymore, Hollywood?

To epic flicks, people herd like cattle, so bring out the beasts, it’s time to battle. Hollywood is out of control right now. Ever since the era of computer-driven special effects began, we’ve been seeing epic movie after epic movie. But you gotta wonder, how will this escalation of epic-ness end? We saw epic war movies like “Troy” come out and dazzle us by showing thousands of ships carrying men with stupidly long hair to battle.

Mustangs dunk Davis, 79-67

Coming off of a three-game losing streak, the Cal Poly men’s basketball team handed UC Davis a definitive 79-67 loss in a game that at times resembled the video game “NBA Jam.”

Cal Poly trailed the Aggies for the entire first half, but stayed in the game in part due to guard Chaz Thomas’ catching fire.
