Graham's injury opens door for Dunn

Week 12 has arrived, and depending on the league settings, you’ve got to have a record of at least 5-6 to have a shot at the playoffs.

If you’ve got a record of 4-7, you’ll most likely have to win out and have a good point total to gain a playoff spot. My advice is to take it one week at a time and play upside match-ups the rest of the way.

Big names return to the field

Fantasy football crunch time is upon us. These last few weeks are the times when simple sit or start decisions can derail your run or ensure a spot in the playoffs. In the end, you should decide what is best for your team. This week we look at a new top QB, an injured rookie and three big-name players who look to make a significant impact upon returning to the playing field.

Bye weeks almost over

This weekend marks the last of bye weeks. Barring injuries, your top players will be playing every week. As I’ve mentioned in previous weeks, you’re running out of time to address roster needs. Excess in one position will not help you make the playoffs if you lack in another.

Young unknowns worth a look

Welcome to Week 9 of the football season. It seems like this year has been full of players sitting for non-injury reasons. Larry Johnson may not suit up again for the remainder of the season, while the Giants’ top receiver, Plaxico Burress, has missed a game for skipping a team meeting and last week was benched for the first quarter after missing a therapy session.

Women's soccer team looks to rebound

Coming off its first Big West Conference loss on Sunday to UC Santa Barbara, the Cal Poly women’s soccer team looks to bounce back tonight at Pacific.

The Mustangs (8-7, 3-1) are in fourth place in the conference coming into this weekend’s slate of games, but would still win the Big West if they win the remainder of their matches.

Young stars shining in World Series

The Rays and Phillies make up the 2008 World Series. Before the season started, this was an improbable combination to say the least, and this was the match-up that Major League Baseball didn’t want. The World Series will not include the defending champion Red Sox, the 100-year cursed Cubs or the personality of Manny Ramirez.

L.J. a fantasy flop

Larry Johnson obviously doesn’t own himself in any of his fantasy leagues. It was announced this week that the Kansas City Chiefs running back will sit out Sunday’s game for “violating team rules.” Who is to blame in this situation? Is it the running back for breaking rules? Is it the coach for sitting the team’s top player? Either way, there is nothing you can do about the situation.

Baltimore's McClain a fantasy action hero

This upcoming week is an important one in fantasy football. The standings start to clear up and the top dogs emerge while the bottom feeders realize that a turnaround needs to happen fast. If you are a top dog, my advice is to not sit around. Make sure that the appropriate moves are made to protect your top players and ensure you’ll be at the top for playoff time.
