Swimming teams defeat UCSC
Students and community members crowded the stands of the Sinsheimer Park swimming pool Saturday to cheer on the Cal Poly men’s and women’s swimming teams as they overwhelmingly defeated the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs 183-104 and 170-118.
Cal Poly freshmen Amy Morales, Lacey Buck and Kylie France won two races each on the women’s side contributing to the Mustangs lead.

University budget crisis continues
California’s deteriorating economy and budget crisis continues to affect Cal Poly faculty and students as administrators wait to receive the Chancellor’s Office evaluation of the 2009-10 operating budget.
Next year, Cal Poly expects a budget cut of at least $500,000 if Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s budget proposal is approved by the legislature.

Stephen Lloyd-Moffett, a professor for the Cal Poly Religious Studies Program, will present “The War for Gaza: Why Now? What Now?” to discuss the causes of conflict and the implications for long-term peace.
