Blaze Pizza is celebrating Pi Day with pizzas for $3.14 nationwide March 14. Blaze’s standard pizzas generally cost $8.25. The San Luis Obispo location will open its doors at 10:30 a.m, dishing out personalized pizzas for less than half the standard price all day until 11 p.m.

“Pi Day is a great way for us to connect with guests and ‘celebrate the circle’ with our clean food and fast-fire’d pizzas,” president and CEO Jim Mizes said in a press release.

Some students say that it’s the quality for a price that can’t be beat that brings them to Blaze.

“They make relatively cheap pizza with fresh ingredients that you can customize,” mechanical engineering senior Nate Hoyt said. “The ingredients just seem more like something you’d buy at Trader Joe’s than what you’d get at a normal pizza place.”

Taking into account the entire experience, he likes the atmosphere that Blaze offers.

“It’s a different vibe than most pizza places. It’s hard to put a finger on it,” Hoyt said. “Most pizza places have a similar theme of carpet floors, dim lighting and grease stains. Blaze is just refreshing I guess.”

A Blaze regular, Hoyt suggests getting the “Green Stripe” pizza.
