Cal Poly has appointed new leadership for the Cal Poly, Solano Campus and Cal Poly Maritime Academy coinciding with the official merger set for July 1.

Corey Cook will serve as vice president and CEO of the Cal Poly, Solano Campus, and Eric C. Jones, retired Coast Guard rear admiral, will serve as superintendent of the Cal Poly Maritime Academy. These appointments will take effect on July 1, according to a campuswide email from the Office of the President this morning.

Approved in November 2024, Cal Poly and Cal Maritime will officially merge on July 1. Once effective, the Cal Maritime campus will officially become Cal Poly, Solano Campus. Mike Dumont, California Maritime Academy interim president, will retire once the merger takes place, according to university spokesperson Matt Lazier. Armstrong expressed gratitude for Dumont’s leadership in his email.

At Cal Poly, Solano Campus, Cook will play a vital role in providing strategic vision, executive leadership, and operational oversight for all programs and initiatives, according to the email.
