On Tuesday night, our great, possibly the greatest ever, leader President Jeffrey D. Armstrong got up on the podium to address the wonderful students of Cal Poly.
People clapped. People stood up. Some people didn’t, and those people were immediately exiled to Cal Maritime.
Cal Poly earned three major endorsements from Money Magazine, U.S. News and World Reports and Forbes, with Money Magazine giving it a five-star ranking, U.S. News and World Reports ranking it as the best overall master’s-level university in the West, and Forbes placing it in the top 25 public colleges of its 2025-26 list of America’s Top Colleges.
Cal Poly has appointed Corey Cook as vice president and CEO of the Cal Poly, Solano Campus and Eric C. Jones, retired Coast Guard rear admiral, as superintendent of the Cal Poly Maritime Academy, effective July 1, as part of the merger with Cal Maritime.
