Brandon Pham was sentenced to seven months in the County Jail Wednesday afternoon, according to court documents.

Pham and Charles Hojaboom, both Cal Poly students, were arrested last November for firing a gun outside the Poly Canyon Village apartments.

Pham and Charles Hojaboom allegedly fired guns on campus at least four times, including the incident in Poly Canyon Village.

Police found the two students in possession of a shotgun, a loaded, concealed piston and a knife.

According to court documents, Pham entered a no-contest plea deal, which resulted in a sentencing of 210 days in jail and two years of probation.

Hojaboom will appear in court on Sept. 30 to determine his mental competency to stand trial. According to court records, he has remained in the San Luis Obispo County Jail since December 2023.

Around 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 11, Cal Poly police dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots heard along Poly Canyon Road. Officers found Pham and Hojaboom with a shotgun and pistol near a street sign with bullet holes, according to past reporting by Mustang News.
