A plant disease that kills oak trees is in San Luis Obispo for the first time.

A Sudden Oak Death Blitz is done by volunteers across California who collect plant samples and send them to a pathology lab to be tested. Officials say to avoid spreading the plant disease, community members should clean their shoes after hiking in wet areas.
