On Thursday, Sept. 19, the Downtown Centre Cinemas 7 on Marsh Street in Downtown San Luis Obispo will be offering free movies to all Cal Poly students who show a valid school ID after the Farmer’s Market.
The theater will be closed to the public, with the last public show being “The Matrix” at 7 p.m. Students can arrive at 8:30 p.m., and it is a first-come, first-served basis. Movies start at 9-9:30 p.m.
Downtown Centre Cinemas 7 owner Bruce Sanborn said the capacity will be around 650 seats.
The movies that will be shown include “Transformers One,” “Never Let Go,” “The Substance,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “Speak No Evil” and “Jung Kook: I Am Still.”
According to Downtown Centre Cinemas 7 owner Bruce Sanborn, the theater used to offer free movies after the Farmer’s Market during Week of Welcome (WOW) to freshmen only but now is expanding to all Cal Poly students.
Sanborn has owned the business with his wife for 30 years. They have two locations in San downtown San Luis Obispo and Atascadero.
Sanborn plans to offer this deal next year as well.
