Cal Fire San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly, and California State Parks conducted a prescribed burn at Cal Poly’s Escuela Ranch as part of a vegetation management plan. About 30 acres were intentionally burned to improve fire safety, restore ecosystem health, and give students hands-on wildfire training. Students trained alongside state professionals and helped plan, conduct, and clean up all parts of the burn. Reporter Aneka Edwards brings us the story.
