HOTWORX, a 24/7 infrared workout studio with locations in 44 states and five countries, is set to open in March below the Summit Apartment Complex at 790 E. Foothill Blvd. in suite 110 according to the HOTWORX website.
According to their website, HOTWORX is a membership-based workout studio and fitness program that utilizes a patented sauna, combining heat, infrared technology and exercise in every stand-alone sauna workout room.
Every class is taught by a virtual instructor, lasting only 15 to 30 minutes long, as stated on their website. The General Manager of the new HOTWORX location, Kiara Inman spoke about the setup of the new studio.
“By having virtual instruction in the form of a flat-screen TV that’s built into the side of the sauna, we have the ability to provide over 10,000 class slots per day. So three spots in each sauna, 10, saunas, 12, rotating classes, every 15 to 30 minutes, there’s a whole new set of 30 classes,” Inman said.
Inman described HOTWORX as having a gym lobby, an unheated functional fitness area, and private bathrooms and showers along with these stand-alone sauna units.
According to the HOTWORX website, heat “raises your core temperature and speeds up metabolism,” and infrared energy “activates and strengthens the regenerative process in the human body.” This patented “sauna-style” heating allows members to burn more calories in less time.
“It really allows for people to work in this workout, no matter what your profession, your busyness level, your schedule,” Inman said.
When asked about the new HOTWORX studio, graphic communications junior Hailey Jones said, “It’s new and exciting.”
Jones is busy with school, work, and extracurricular activities, and thinks that “Having a place to fit in a quick workout at any time of the day is something we don’t really have yet, and I think HOTWORX could help me fit in exercise in my day.”
With the hopes of opening in late March, HOTWORX is offering a discounted price on memberships and every first class free, according to their membership form.
