Jeff Bridges & The Abiders will be hitting the stage at the Fremont Theater on Feb. 21.

Although Bridge’s 2011 self-titled album peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Folk Albums chart, he is still most widely known for his role as the “Dude” in the 1998 film “The Big Lebowski,” and also for his work in “Tron” and “True Grit.”

Theatre arts junior Nick Cocores said it is Bridges’ acting work that would most likely draw him to see the performance.

“I think he’s really cool and a good actor, but what I’ve heard of his music I’m not really a fan of,” Cocores said.

Computer science sophomore Ryan Gelston agreed.

“I got my Jeff Bridges fix from ‘The Big Lebowski,’” Gelston said. “I don’t really need any more.”
But Bridges’ concerts in the past have drawn crowds, especially with more seasoned generations. Gelston said the crowd this past year, made up mostly of 40-year-olds, was one of the largest he has ever seen.
“The line went all the way around the block,” Gelston said.

The 21 and older show is scheduled to start at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door.
